1. Data controller
QHook’d is published by the publisher of the QHook’d application. For any questions about your personal data or the exercise of your rights, contact: contact@qhooked.com.
2. Data we process
- Account and authentication data: technical account identifier, username, email address, language, account creation date and status.
- Gameplay data: scan dates and times, geolocated QR codes created or scanned, positions associated with QR codes, collectibles obtained and progress required to operate the game.
- Technical data: information strictly required to secure and diagnose the service. An IP address may be processed temporarily by the hosting provider or security logs, but it is not stored in the gameplay database.
QHook’d never retains the original QR-code content. Only a non-reversible SHA-256 fingerprint is used to recognise the same QR code.
3. Purposes and legal basis
We use this data to create and secure your account, enable scans, award collectibles, maintain leaderboards, prevent abuse and operate the service. Gameplay processing is necessary to provide the requested service. Security and fraud-prevention measures rely on our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its players.
4. Location
Location is used during a scan to associate the QR code with a place and apply the game’s geographic rules. The device’s measured GPS position is not retained as movement history. The position associated with a QR code may be retained and linked to your scan while your account exists.
5. Recipients and transfers
Data is available only to the technical services required by QHook’d, its hosting provider and the authentication provider. It is not sold or used for targeted advertising. QHook’d seeks hosting in the European Union and limits any transfer outside the European Economic Area to safeguards provided by applicable law.
6. Retention and deletion
Account and gameplay data is retained while the account exists. Any technical logs are retained only as long as required for security and diagnosis. When you delete your account in the app, your identity, profile, scans and linked gameplay data are deleted. QR-code positions that have become anonymous may remain to preserve the shared operation of the game.
7. Your rights
You can access your data and request account deletion from the Privacy section of the app. You may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing, by emailing contact@qhooked.com. You may lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your competent supervisory authority.
8. Children
QHook’d is not intended for children under 13. If the service is made available to minors in a country where parental consent is required, applicable local rules must be followed.
9. Security and changes
Technical and organisational measures are used to protect data. This policy may change with the service or applicable law. The latest update date appears at the top of this page.
